An encrypted file storage app for iPhone and iPad that syncs through your own iCloud, with only your password providing access.
About nookd.
Nookd keeps your photos, videos, audio and documents encrypted on your device before syncing through your own iCloud account. Files are locked before they leave your iPhone, with each file getting its own encryption key. The app runs no servers and stores nothing itself, relying entirely on Apple's iCloud infrastructure.
The app features a tactile interface with customizable folder organization, full-screen viewers for all file types, and automatic locking when you switch apps. It includes no tracking, analytics or advertising. The free version stores up to 100 files per profile with all features included, while paid plans remove the file limit.

FAQ
- What happens if I forget my password?
- The password cannot be reset or recovered. Your password is the only key to your files, so files in that profile cannot be opened by anyone, including the company. A new password creates a new, empty profile.
- How does syncing work across devices?
- Nookd syncs through your private iCloud, so each device needs the same iCloud account with iCloud turned on. Type the same password on each device, and a large library can take a while to arrive.
- What happens to my files if I stop subscribing?
- Nothing is deleted. Your first 100 files in each profile keep opening. The rest keep their thumbnails, can still be moved, shared or deleted, and open again when you subscribe.
- How do I cancel my subscription?
- Cancel in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions on your device at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can also tap Manage Subscription in Nookd's Settings.
- Does the company track my files or show ads?
- No. There is no tracking, no ads and no analytics. The only outside service is RevenueCat, which handles subscriptions and never sees your files.
