About Piqt
Piqt is an on-device photo curator for iPhone that scores every photo in your library across five signals: Apple's aesthetic model, technical quality, a NIMA model trained on 255,000 human-rated images, the faces in frame, and location rarity. It ranks your best shots, groups near-identical frames, and files screenshots into collections, all without uploading anything or requiring an account.
The app finds your trips and events by watching your photo habits, names them from an on-device place table, and can turn each into an album in Photos. Every score shows its reasoning in a detailed sheet, and all five scoring weights are adjustable, allowing your library to re-rank instantly without a rescan.
Piqt's safety design is built into the code: when you clear a photo, it moves to a "Piqt: To Delete" album where it stays until you confirm deletion in Apple's Photos. The app cannot delete photos itself—the deletion API does not appear in Piqt's source code. Everything runs locally on your device's Neural Engine using Core ML and Apple Vision, with no cloud processing, no account, and no location service access.

- Never on its own. When you clear a photo, Piqt adds it to a "Piqt: To Delete" album in Photos and you make the final delete yourself in Apple's Photos app with Apple's own confirmation dialog.

- It is a quality rating from 0 to 1 built from five signals: Apple's on-device aesthetic score, technical quality, a NIMA aesthetic model trained on 255,000 human-rated images, the faces in frame, and location rarity. Scores are reduced on anything badly blurred or blown out.
- How large a library can Piqt handle?
- Piqt has been tested smoothly on libraries up to around 100,000 photos. The initial scan runs in batches and is resumable, so you can close the app and pick up where you left off.
