What do I need to upload?

One finished picture in PNG, JPEG or WebP format, up to 10 MB. Illustrations, diagrams and flat artwork work best, like pictures used in doodle videos or explainer videos.

Can I make a whiteboard animation for free?

Yes. A new account starts with 5 free credits, and one credit draws one picture. Free exports carry a watermark and are at most 720p. Buying any credit pack removes both limits permanently.

Can I use the clips commercially?

Pro includes a commercial licence for use in client work, explainer videos, ads and paid courses. Free and Starter clips are for personal and non-commercial use only.

How is WhiteboardAnimation.ai different from VideoScribe?

VideoScribe is a full whiteboard video editor with scenes, text, stock images, voice-over and music on one timeline requiring SVG artwork. WhiteboardAnimation.ai draws only the animation: a finished PNG, JPEG or WebP picture by hand with line art first and then colour, which you finish in your own editor.

Can I export with a transparent background?

Yes, on Pro: a WebM with alpha transparency or a PNG sequence. All plans can export on a green screen for chroma keying in your editor.

About WhiteboardAnimation.ai

WhiteboardAnimation.ai turns a finished picture into a hand-drawn whiteboard animation clip. You upload a PNG, JPEG or WebP image and choose the hand style, drawing length and timing, then export the animation as an MP4, WebM or transparent layer to use in your own video editor.

Unlike full whiteboard animation tools, it does not create pictures from text prompts, build complete videos or provide script editing. It focuses on one task: drawing your finished picture by hand, line art first and then colour, so the clip fits into any video editing workflow.

The tool runs in a desktop browser and offers multiple export formats including transparent backgrounds on Pro plans. It includes an API for developers and AI agents to automate batch drawing of multiple pictures.
