About Talking Avatar

Talking Avatar gives AI voice agents a photorealistic face. Realistic Avatars stream photorealistic avatars that speak your voice agent's audio in real time, with accurate lip sync, natural expressions and subtle head motion. The avatar follows the audio alone, so no text or viseme data are needed; it works with any voice provider or TTS model including OpenAI, ElevenLabs, Azure, Fish Audio and Cartesia.

The avatars start speaking less than 250 milliseconds after audio reaches them, with video and audio delivered together over WebRTC. You can integrate using the SDK with a few lines of code on your server and page, or drop the avatar into your LiveKit room as a participant.

Talking Avatar also offers Voice Agents, complete no-code AI agents on those avatars for $0.06 per minute, and Open Source, a free MIT-licensed 3D talking avatar that runs in the browser.

FAQ

Do avatars need text, viseme events or timing data?
No. Both avatar products follow the audio alone, so they work with any provider and any voice.
Can Realistic Avatars work with LiveKit?
Yes. The avatar can join your LiveKit room as a participant with a publish-only token you mint.
Does the server have to be Node.js?
No. The SDK's server part runs on Node.js 22+ or 18/20 with ws, but any language can use the realtime avatar API directly over one WebSocket. There is a complete Python example.
Can I get a volume discount?
Yes, on a contract. The self-serve price is the same at any volume. For enterprise use or more than 50,000 minutes a month, a custom price goes as low as $0.005 a minute.
