- No, there are two options. You can sign in with Google using Samosa AI as the provider and get free starter credits without needing an API key, or you can bring your own API key and endpoint with OpenAI Compatible mode. Existing setups are unaffected.
- Why is Gotcha not on Google Play Store?
- Gotcha is not on the Play Store because Google Play policies do not allow apps that can control other apps, and Gotcha can control your entire phone. You can download the APK directly from GitHub Releases and sideload it instead.
- Is my data sent to the cloud?
- No. Your data stays only on your device and goes to your chosen LLM endpoint. Credentials are stored encrypted on-device; chats, audit logs, and LLM cache remain local with no sync. If you use the Samosa AI provider, only a session token and account email are kept, never your Google credentials.
- Can Monitor mode actually prevent changes to my phone?
- Yes. Every tool call is checked against the active mode's allowed set before execution. A Monitor-mode call to an Operator-only tool returns an error and never runs—it is a hard gate, not just a prompt suggestion.
