An iOS app for storing photos and videos in an encrypted on-device vault with editing tools, organization features and privacy protection.
About Album Shield
Album Shield is a privacy-focused iOS app that keeps photos and videos secure in an encrypted vault stored locally on your device. The app offers features like face recognition and PIN protection, photo editing and organization with folders and tags, and GPS location removal. It includes a Break-In Log that captures a photo after incorrect PIN attempts and a Duress PIN for opening a separate vault. Album Shield is available in English, French and Spanish.
The app operates with no subscriptions or accounts. It offers a free version that stores up to 15 photos and 5 videos, with optional one-time paid upgrades: Album Shield Pro removes media limits for $9.99 USD, and a Private Camera add-on for capturing photos directly into the vault costs $2.99 USD. All vault contents and encryption keys remain on the device; the developer does not have access to user media.

FAQ
- How long can I recover deleted media?
- Deleted photos and videos can be restored from the Hidden section for up to 15 days. Using Delete Now is permanent and cannot be recovered.
- Does Album Shield provide cloud backup?
- No. Album Shield stores encrypted media only on your device and does not provide cloud backup or automatic restoration on another device. You must export and back up important media before deleting the app, erasing your device or replacing it.
- Can I change the language?
- Yes. Unlock the app, open Settings → Language, and select English, Français or Español. Your vault contents and purchase status remain the same.
- What happens to the original photo when I import from Apple Photos?
- After a photo or video is safely copied into the encrypted vault, Album Shield asks whether to delete the original from Apple Photos. You choose Delete from Photos or Keep in Photos—nothing is removed without that confirmation, every time.
