How does the Product review work?
The Product review is a paid, honest write-up of your product with its own page. It never affects your ranking.

What you're paying for
The Product review ($19) is a detailed, commissioned write-up of your product that lives on its own page at /launch/<listing>/product-review. You pay for it once.
We read your public website fresh—your home page, about, pricing, features, FAQ, docs—and write from what we find. We don't invent anything. Where your pages don't say what a buyer needs to know, we say so plainly. The review is honest, so it covers both what works and what doesn't.
What's in it
Your review gets structured sections: key takeaways, strengths and weaknesses, who it's best for, a check of six core areas (what it does, who it's for, pricing, getting started, trust and security, company details), common buyer questions, a verdict, and the pages we read. No star ratings.
How it shows on site
The full review sits alone at /launch/<listing>/product-review. On your listing page, a short excerpt appears in its own block marked 'Commissioned by the maker', with a link to read it all. Your listing's reviews page shows the summary and key takeaways. It's always kept separate from reviews written by other founders.
It doesn't move your ranking
The Product review never counts toward votes, ratings or rankings. Rankings here come from community votes and (on the billboard) from money contributed—never from reviews. You stay where the community puts you.
How to order
When you choose a paid launch, add it on the plan step. Already launched? Sign in, go to /account/listings, pick 'Upgrades and extras' for the listing, and order it there. See /pricing for the current cost.
All Product reviews on Best Digital Launch are listed side by side at /reviews ("App reviews" in the footer, shown once one exists).
Questions people ask
- Will the review help my ranking?
- No. The Product review never affects your position on leaderboards or community votes. Rankings come only from votes and contributions, not reviews.
- What if my website is down when you try to read it?
- We try again several times. If it stays unreachable, our team holds the review to check before publishing. If they write it from your listing alone, they'll say so in the review.
- Can I change what the review says?
- No. You pay for the review, but you can't edit it. It's written from your public website and listing, not by you.
