- Does Tokonomics add latency to my requests?
- Tokonomics adds approximately 31ms of overhead per request (3.6% on a typical call). It streams the provider response back in real-time without buffering, so your users will not notice any difference in response speed.
- Does Tokonomics store my prompts or completions?
- No. Tokonomics only records token counts, cost, latency, model, provider, and your custom tags. The content of your prompts and completions is never stored, logged, or accessible to anyone.
- Which LLM providers are supported?
- OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, Google Gemini, Mistral, Groq, xAI (Grok), and any OpenAI-compatible API. Tokonomics works with any programming language and any HTTP client that can make REST calls.
- How are API keys secured?
- Tokonomics API keys are stored as SHA-256 hashes. The plaintext key is shown exactly once at creation and never stored again. Your provider API keys (BYOK) are encrypted with AES-256 at rest.
- What happens when I exceed my budget?
- You receive alerts via email, Slack, or Teams at configured thresholds. On the Pro plan, you can also set hard caps that block API requests with a 429 response once the budget is hit, preventing any overspend.
