About Tiny Desk AI
Tiny Desk AI is a web tool for turning your photos into short AI music videos based on Charlie Wilson's 2023 NPR Tiny Desk performance of "Outstanding". Upload one, two or five photos of yourself or consenting adults, choose the video length and quality tier, and download the generated MP4 with the original sound and a silent version for posting with TikTok's own sound. The service renders videos in about 2 to 3 minutes with no editing skills required, offering different band setups where your photos replace performers in the original clip. Credits come in one-time packs with no subscription, and failed renders are automatically refunded.

FAQ
- What photo works best?
- A clear, well-lit, chest-up photo of one adult facing the camera. Hair and clothes in the video come from the photo, so wear what you want to be seen in.
- Can I use one, two or five photos, and who does each person replace?
- One photo replaces the lead singer. Two replace the lead and sax player, with each person in a separate role. Five replace the lead, sax, keyboard player and both backing singers, using one person per photo.
- Which length should I pick: 6 seconds, 13 seconds or the full version?
- 6 seconds is the cheapest way to see how you look. 13 seconds ends right after the lead's close-up. The full version is the whole 19-second clip with the sax solo. Start short and extend later by paying the difference.
- How long does it take to render a video?
- About 2 to 3 minutes. Each recast part renders in parallel, and the shots are joined in your browser in a few seconds.
- Do I need a subscription?
- No. Credits come in one-time packs: you pay once, nothing renews, and the credits never expire.
