About RailCall

The RailCall homepage

RailCall is a free local AI runtime for developers that prioritizes privacy and cost efficiency by keeping most AI workloads on your own machines. Ninety percent of requests are answered locally at no cost, with only the remaining ten percent sent to cloud models and metered against a budget you set.

The platform includes Studio, a visual workflow builder with over 1,000 nodes; CLI tools; and an airlock system that requires human approval before any action executes. Every action generates a cryptographically signed, tamper-evident receipt that can be verified offline using Ed25519 signatures.

RailCall supports building workflows, autonomous agents, and custom applications. Teams can collaborate through RailHub, a centralized hub offering sophisticated workflows with multi-level approvals, capacity routing across your organization's machines, and a shared ledger of receipts, all for $5 per human seat per month. Trained agents that run 24/7 cost $5 each.

The entire local runtime is free with an MIT license and requires no account. You only pay for cloud features: RailHub Team for team collaboration, hosted cloud agents, and overflow costs when requests exceed local capacity.

FAQ

What is a seat?
A human with a RailHub login who can build, approve or administer. Machines, agents, stations and cloud agents are never seats and are unlimited at every tier.
Do I need an account to use RailCall?
No. Everything on your machines runs without an account. You log in only for the hub, cloud agents and the overflow budget.
What is overflow?
The approximately 10% of requests your machine cannot answer at the quality you need. They go to a bigger model and are metered against your budget, with each one showing on your statement with the reason it left.
Can I run fully offline?
Yes. The local product has no dependency on the hub. The hub is for teams that want one ledger, one library and approvals across machines.
What happens at 100% of my budget?
Overflow pauses if you chose stop-at-limit. Local flows keep running and the switch keeps working. You raise the budget and it resumes immediately.
