LocalBG is an offline background removal tool that runs entirely on your computer for images, videos and GIFs. All processing happens locally on your device with no uploads, no internet connection required for processing, and no watermarks. The application uses a segmentation model running on your own CPU or GPU to find the subject and remove the background, without generating new images or using generative AI.

The Free plan offers unlimited single-image processing at full resolution with custom backgrounds, sticker export, metadata stripping and alpha mask export. The Pro plan at €8/month adds bulk processing, video and GIF background removal, support for MP4, MOV, AVI, WebM and MKV video formats with ProRes 4444 alpha export, the ability to import custom AI models, edge despill for clean edges, resizing and compression, and use on up to 3 devices.

LocalBG supports Windows, macOS and Linux, with a headless CLI available for servers, automation and Docker. Your images are never uploaded, stored or seen by anyone, with nothing used for training and no image data leaving your device.

Can I use LocalBG offline?

Yes, all processing happens locally on your machine, so background removal works with no internet connection at all. The app only needs a connection for license activation, renewal and optional update checks.

Are my images private and stored somewhere?

Your images are never uploaded, stored, or seen by anyone. There is no upload step because the model runs on your own CPU or GPU. Nothing is used for training and no image data ever leaves your device.

Does LocalBG use generative AI to create backgrounds?

No. LocalBG does not generate new images or invent a background. A segmentation model on your own computer finds the subject and removes the background. Your file is not sent to a generative model.

Can I cancel my Pro subscription anytime?

Yes, you can cancel anytime at paddle.net using your checkout email, or email contact@localbg.app. You keep access until the end of the current billing period.

What is the money-back guarantee?
