IntoLayers takes one flat PNG or JPEG image and automatically separates the text, subjects, graphics and background into separate transparent layers, each keeping its original position and stacking order. The service rebuilds the background behind removed elements, filling any gaps. Users can download individual layers as transparent PNGs or export the complete stack as a layered PSD file compatible with Photoshop, Photopea, Affinity Photo and GIMP. How do I convert a picture to layers?

Upload the picture to IntoLayers and click Convert. About 45 seconds later, at the default two layers, you get a rebuilt background plus one transparent layer holding the separated elements. You can pick more layers to put each subject, text block and graphic on its own, then download them or export the stack as a PSD.

How accurate is the text in the layers?

In 15 test runs at 1K, every text layer came back character-for-character correct, including five runs on heavily compressed JPEGs. When you split into three or more layers, small elements are enlarged—a median of 2.17× in those runs—which is why small type stays sharp.

Is this the same as background removal?

No. A background remover gives you one cut-out subject and throws the rest away. Image to layers gives you every element as its own layer, plus a background with the gaps filled. The whole design stays editable.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. Your first 1K conversion with 2 layers runs without an account, and you can download it: the rebuilt background plus one element layer, as transparent PNGs or a layered PSD. The 1.5K and 2K sizes, 3 or more layers and Auto need a paid plan or a credit pack.

How many credits does one conversion use?

The number of layers times the credits per layer for the size you pick: 5 at 1K, 8 at 1.5K and 10 at 2K. For example, 2 layers at 1K use 10 credits, 5 layers at 1K use 25, and 5 layers at 2K use 50. The size menu shows the credits per layer, so you can work out the cost before you run it.
