How does HammerAI work?

HammerAI runs AI models locally on your device using WebGPU in the browser or Ollama and llama.cpp on desktop apps. You select a character, pick a model, and start chatting instantly. All processing happens locally so your conversations never leave your device. Cloud-hosted models are also available as an alternative.

Is my chat private?

When using local models, your messages never leave your device and conversations are deleted when you close the app. With cloud models, messages are sent to servers but not stored or used for training.

What happens if I run out of credits?

If you run out of credits before your billing period ends, you won't be able to use cloud image generation or text-to-speech until your credits refresh. You can also purchase additional credits anytime. Local features and cloud messaging remain unlimited on paid plans.

What platforms does HammerAI support?

HammerAI is available as a web app that runs in any modern browser with WebGPU support (Chrome, Edge, etc.) and as a desktop app for Mac, Windows, and Linux. The desktop app works fully offline once downloaded.

Do I need to register or create an account?

To chat on HammerAI Web you do need a free account. Every model available in the browser is a cloud model, and cloud models require signing in so that we can fight abuse. A free account includes free cloud models, cloud chat sync, and the option to buy credits or a subscription for the more powerful models. If you want to chat without an account, download the desktop app and use local models, which run on your own machine with no login.
