- What are the basic rules of checkers?
- Each side has twelve men on the dark squares. Men move one square diagonally forward and cannot move backward. You capture by jumping an adjacent enemy piece to the empty square beyond, and jumps are mandatory. A man that reaches the far row becomes a king, which moves and jumps both forward and backward. You win by capturing every enemy piece or leaving your opponent with no legal move.
- Can I play offline?
- After the page loads, the game runs in your browser. Checkerso registers a service worker so a return visit can load from cache and keep playing without a live connection.
- Do I need an account?
- No. Open the page and play. Settings and free-play progress stay on your device in local storage, with no account required.
