What is the difference between Hearts mode and Coins mode?

Hearts mode earns Gold Coins and Activity but does not drop card fragments. Coins mode earns Credits and Activity plus a chance at random bonuses like card fragments, items, and cosmetics. The closer you stop to exactly 5 seconds, the more Activity you earn in either mode.

How does the prize pool work and when do I get paid?

The prize pool grows as players play, watch ads, and shop. When it reaches $1 billion, the season ends and every player who beat Level 10 splits the entire pool equally. A new season then opens with the pool restarting at zero. If the target is not reached within 10 years of launch, the accumulated pool is distributed pro-rata to all qualified players.

How do I consistently hit Perfect (<0.005s)?

Perfect requires mental count + muscle memory: • Levels 1-3: practice steady rhythm (timer visible) • Level 4+: timer hides — rely on internal countdown • Use Tolerance Shield (L1-8) or Timer Extension (L4-7) for more leeway • Don't tense up — too much force makes you press early

Best item combo for L8+?

Levels 9-10 disallow items — pure skill. Levels 4-8 recommended combos: • Timer Reveal + Tolerance Shield + Unlimited Hearts — low failure cost + visual aid • L8 Tolerance Shield (0.050s) is a lifesaver, L7 Timer Reveal (longer visible timer, more with mastery) is most useful

How to reach Tier 1 in Five by Five?

Cumulative error <0.500s across 5 rounds. Tips: • Fixed rhythm per round (e.g. 3s ready, 2s countdown) • Don't dwell on past rounds — focus on the current one • If one round goes 0.200s+, the next should be MORE steady, not faster • Tier 1 (≤0.500s) is the top reward tier — Hearts mode pays Coins, Coins mode pays Credits plus a chance at a random bonus
