About CaptureFlow

The CaptureFlow homepage

CaptureFlow is an open-source screen recording tool that makes it easy to capture your screen and share recordings via instant links with your team or customers. Every recording automatically gets an AI transcript that you can edit to clean up the video, remove filler words, add backgrounds, and adjust your camera—all while the link stays the same.

The platform lets viewers comment and react directly on the video timeline at exact moments, turning recordings into collaborative feedback spaces without needing another meeting. You can organize all your team's recordings in a shared workspace, where members can invite anyone as a viewer to watch, comment, and react for free.

CaptureFlow runs on Cloudflare's infrastructure, which keeps costs down: viewers stay free because Cloudflare R2 doesn't charge per view, and self-hosting is affordable since Cloudflare's free tiers cover the app, database, and first 10GB of storage. The entire application is open source under the AGPL license.

FAQ

Can I self-host CaptureFlow?
Yes. CaptureFlow is open source under the AGPL, and the whole backend runs on Cloudflare: Workers for the app and API, R2 for recordings, and D1 for everything else. There is also a Deploy to Cloudflare button, with a guide at docs.captureflow.dev.
Why does CaptureFlow run on Cloudflare?
Video gets expensive in the wrong places. Most clouds charge every time someone watches a file, and Cloudflare R2 doesn't, so a recording watched a hundred times costs no more than one watched once. That's what lets viewers stay free. Cloudflare's free tiers also make self-hosting cheap, covering the app, database, and first 10 GB of storage for small teams.
How does paid pricing work?
Light and Pro are one price per member per month, with less cost when billed yearly. A member is someone who records. Viewers invited to watch, comment and react are always free, so your whole company can be in the workspace while you pay only for recording members.
How long are my recordings kept?
On paid plans, recordings are kept until you delete them. On the free plan, a recording is removed after 30 days without a view, so idle accounts don't hold onto space. If you self-host, you set the rules.
What is managed hosting?
Managed hosting is CaptureFlow run by the team for teams that don't want to set up Cloudflare themselves. You get the same open-source app with the hosting, storage, and updates taken care of. You can start free with 25 recordings per person up to 5 minutes each.
